Very few have called the SLS AMG a slouch, and even fewer have said it lacked power from its naturally aspirated, hand built, 6.2 liter V8 found slung low ahead of the driver after experiencing the raw power of the 563hp German exotic,   Not for the owner of this particular SLS.  He loves almost everything about his AMG… almost.  That’s why the owner chose to have the Weistec SLS825 Supercharger kit fitted to the M159 power plant under the hood giving him enough power to keep any motorsports enthusiast happy, and partially terrified.

With the installation of a Weistec SLS825 Supercharger, a proper exhaust system is a necessity.  Engineered and built in house, the Weistec SLS Long Tube Headers had to be fitted for more power, increased engine life, and a V8 roar that attracts its own live audience anywhere you go.

It’s not as easy as it looks.  Our engineers have spent years developing and testing our products under harsh conditions to make sure every component of the car has been brought up to the highest standards to handle the newly added 825 crank horsepower.  The ECU and TCU are calibrated for the engine and transmission to take advantage of the supercharger unit and the speed at which it reaches red line in each gear. The factory pulleys were replaced by our in house designed and manufactured Billet Aluminum pulleys.  The Power Steering Reservoir has been redesigned and relocated, and the cooling recovery tank is replaced with a Weistec engineered unit.

Even the naturally aspirated 6.2 Liter V8’s have a tendency to have oil seep into the intake manifold.  The Weistec Oil / Air Separator was added to keep clean air flowing through the combustion chambers, increase the life of the engine, and stops oil build up in unwanted places.

Our heat exchanger behind the grill gives onlookers a discreet visual cue that gives the impression, “This is not your standard SLS”.

Adding nearly 200 horsepower to the wheels and almost 150 pound/feet of torque, this 3700 lbs. gullwing charges through the speedometer with the urgency of a jet fighter without the need of a pilot’s license.
