Product Description
AMG skipped a conventional torque-converter automatic in favor of a proper dual-clutch transaxle for the SLS, and choosing that architecture alone shows how seriously the car's drivetrain was engineered. Getrag (now Magna PT) built it as one fused unit, gearbox, differential, and final drive together, bolted directly to the rear axle for near-50/50 weight distribution. A carbon-fiber propshaft, spinning at engine speed, ties it to the naturally aspirated M159 V8 up front. This is genuine motorsport-derived architecture, and it was significant enough that AMG carried it forward, in evolved form, into the Mercedes-AMG GT's own SPEEDSHIFT DCT.
Weistec's TCU upgrade goes to work on that factory dual-clutch controller in software. The goal is to unlock the same calibration headroom AMG itself used to set the SLS Black Series apart from the standard car, building on Getrag and AMG's engineering rather than second-guessing it. Every factory protection, thermal limits, clutch-wear management, OEM diagnostics, stays exactly where AMG put it. This is OEM-caliber calibration discipline, not a piggyback tune, and it takes an already special transaxle to another level entirely.

Complete The Upgrade
An ECU tune alone won't remove all factory limits or fix how power reaches the ground. Add these to round out the upgrade with no limitations.

What is a CPC module?
The CPC (Central Powertrain Control) is a separate control unit that manages things like the active exhaust valves, radiator fan, intercooler pumps, and speed limiter. On many newer Mercedes-Benz vehicles, it also houses torque limiters that can hold back an ECU tune from reaching its full potential.
What is a TCU tune?
A TCU (transmission control unit) tune delivers faster, firmer shifts with higher line pressure, reducing clutch slip and increasing the transmission's torque capacity. It's a worthwhile upgrade on its own, or paired with an ECU tune for a fully sorted powertrain.
Good to Know
- This is a reflash of your original module, not a stand-alone unit.
- Power gains vary by vehicle, modifications, fuel, and operating conditions (ambient temperature, altitude, etc.).
- New or upgraded spark plugs are always recommended when tuning.
- Product may not be emissions compliant. Check local laws prior to installation.
- Always use a battery charger during programming.
