Product Description
The 981-generation 3.4L flat-six is the high-water mark of Porsche's naturally aspirated Boxster and Cayman engines, the last major refinement of that formula before the 718's turbo-four switch. It introduced a closed-deck Alusil block and direct fuel injection, and critically, it eliminated the intermediate shaft design that had plagued earlier water-cooled flat-sixes, making it both more rigid and more reliable than everything that came before it. Refined, durable, and free-revving in a way no turbocharged engine was ever trying to replicate, this is naturally aspirated Porsche engineering at its most complete.
Weistec's ECU tune builds on that factory engineering rather than working around it. It's a software recalibration written to the same validation standard Porsche used for its own calibration. Knock protection, thermal management, and OEM diagnostics all remain exactly as the factory intended, because the goal here is to extract more from a genuinely great design, not change what it is. On this engine that yields a gain from 325 to 360 horsepower and 273 to 290 lb-ft of torque, all from software refinement of hardware that was already engineered exceptionally well.

Complete The Upgrade
An ECU tune alone won't remove all factory limits or fix how power reaches the ground. Add these to round out the upgrade with no limitations.

What is a CPC module?
The CPC (Central Powertrain Control) is a separate control unit that manages things like the active exhaust valves, radiator fan, intercooler pumps, and speed limiter. On many newer Mercedes-Benz vehicles, it also houses torque limiters that can hold back an ECU tune from reaching its full potential.
What is a TCU tune?
A TCU (transmission control unit) tune delivers faster, firmer shifts with higher line pressure, reducing clutch slip and increasing the transmission's torque capacity. It's a worthwhile upgrade on its own, or paired with an ECU tune for a fully sorted powertrain.
Good to Know
- This is a reflash of your original module, not a stand-alone unit.
- Power gains vary by vehicle, modifications, fuel, and operating conditions (ambient temperature, altitude, etc.).
- New or upgraded spark plugs are always recommended when tuning.
- Product may not be emissions compliant. Check local laws prior to installation.
- Always use a battery charger during programming.
