Product Description
Porsche didn't ease into building the 991.1 GT3 RS's 4.0L flat-six. They went straight to the source and pulled its crankshaft directly from the 911 RSR race car, stretching the stroke to 80.4mm to make it work. The result is one of the most uncompromising engines Porsche has ever put a warranty behind: solid-mounted to the chassis, dry-sumped for track-day oil control, and free-revving all the way to a 9,000 rpm redline, with output that sat right alongside the contemporary GT3 Cup race engine. This is about as close as a factory-backed, license-plated road car gets to genuine racing hardware, and Porsche built it that way on purpose.
Weistec's ECU tune takes that motorsport-grade foundation and pushes it further through a full software recalibration built with the same rigor and validation standard Porsche applied to the original mapping. Every knock-protection strategy, thermal management routine, and OEM diagnostic function stays exactly as the factory engineered it. What changes is the fuel, ignition, and throttle mapping underneath, refined until this already race-derived engine wakes up roughly 16 additional horsepower and 11 lb-ft of torque it had been holding in reserve. An engine this special deserves a calibration this precise, and that's exactly what it gets.

Complete The Upgrade
An ECU tune alone won't remove all factory limits or fix how power reaches the ground. Add these to round out the upgrade with no limitations.

What is a CPC module?
The CPC (Central Powertrain Control) is a separate control unit that manages things like the active exhaust valves, radiator fan, intercooler pumps, and speed limiter. On many newer Mercedes-Benz vehicles, it also houses torque limiters that can hold back an ECU tune from reaching its full potential.
What is a TCU tune?
A TCU (transmission control unit) tune delivers faster, firmer shifts with higher line pressure, reducing clutch slip and increasing the transmission's torque capacity. It's a worthwhile upgrade on its own, or paired with an ECU tune for a fully sorted powertrain.
Good to Know
- This is a reflash of your original module, not a stand-alone unit.
- Power gains vary by vehicle, modifications, fuel, and operating conditions (ambient temperature, altitude, etc.).
- New or upgraded spark plugs are always recommended when tuning.
- Product may not be emissions compliant. Check local laws prior to installation.
- Always use a battery charger during programming.
