Product Description
When AMG introduced the M177, it wasn't just bolting turbos onto an old formula, it was rethinking the flagship V8 from the inside out. The signature move is the hot-vee layout, both turbochargers tucked inside the V between the cylinder banks instead of hanging off the sides, a configuration that shortens the path to the turbines, sharpens throttle response, and forced AMG's engineers to solve a genuinely hard thermal management problem to make it work. Add a flat-plane crank, dry-sump lubrication, and a bloodline that traces back to AMG's own M133 four-cylinder, and you get an engine that's gone on to power the C63, E63, and AMG GT and earned its reputation as one of the most technically ambitious V8s AMG has ever built.
That's an incredible foundation to start from, and Weistec's calibration is built to make the most of it. It's a software recalibration, working with the factory's own engineering instead of against it by refining fueling, boost, timing, and throttle mapping. Knock protection, thermal management, and OEM diagnostics stay exactly as the factory designed them, and the whole thing is developed and validated with the same rigor as AMG's own calibration work. The payoff is real: roughly 136 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque waiting to be unlocked from an engine that already had this much left in reserve (individual gains may vary by vehicle).

Cypher Plus
Order a Cypher Plus and tune your car yourself from your phone, entirely through the MyFlasher app. Watch how it works.

Mail It In
Remove your ECU or TCU and mail it to us for tuning. Required for some applications.

In Person
Bring your vehicle, or just your ECU/TCU, to our Anaheim, CA headquarters. Call 714-202-0005 or email sales@weistec.com to schedule.

Complete The Upgrade
An ECU tune alone won't remove all factory limits or fix how power reaches the ground. Add these to round out the upgrade with no limitations.

What is a CPC module?
The CPC (Central Powertrain Control) is a separate control unit that manages things like the active exhaust valves, radiator fan, intercooler pumps, and speed limiter. On many newer Mercedes-Benz vehicles, it also houses torque limiters that can hold back an ECU tune from reaching its full potential.
Pre-2019 C63 and pre-2020 GLC63 models don't have a CPC Module. Enter your Year, Make, and Model to confirm your vehicle.
What is a TCU tune?
A TCU (transmission control unit) tune delivers faster, firmer shifts with higher line pressure, reducing clutch slip and increasing the transmission's torque capacity. It's a worthwhile upgrade on its own, or paired with an ECU tune for a fully sorted powertrain.
Good to Know
- This is a reflash of your original module, not a stand-alone unit.
- Power gains vary by vehicle, modifications, fuel, and operating conditions (ambient temperature, altitude, etc.).
- New or upgraded spark plugs are always recommended when tuning.
- Product may not be emissions compliant. Check local laws prior to installation.
- Always use a battery charger during programming.
