Product Description
The N62B48 is the biggest, boldest expression of BMW's first-generation Valvetronic V8, topping out the naturally aspirated lineup in the 750i and X5 4.8i. Like its 3.6L and 4.0L siblings, it breathes through throttleless, variable-lift intake metering and double-VANOS timing, all wrapped in an Alusil block that left the Nikasil coating problems of the previous M62 generation behind for good. As the range-topping variant, the 4.8L carried the most factory output and torque of the entire N62 family, backing up the engine's International Engine of the Year credentials with genuine flagship-level performance for its era.
Weistec's calibration for the N62B48 is a pure software recalibration. It works within the Valvetronic and VANOS systems BMW engineered into this engine, extracting additional performance while leaving knock protection, thermal management, and OEM diagnostics fully intact. Developed to the same rigor as BMW's own factory calibration work, the tune is good for roughly 25 additional horsepower and 24 lb-ft of torque over stock output, giving an already flagship-grade engine an entirely new ceiling.

Complete The Upgrade
An ECU tune alone won't remove all factory limits or fix how power reaches the ground. Add these to round out the upgrade with no limitations.

What is a CPC module?
The CPC (Central Powertrain Control) is a separate control unit that manages things like the active exhaust valves, radiator fan, intercooler pumps, and speed limiter. On many newer Mercedes-Benz vehicles, it also houses torque limiters that can hold back an ECU tune from reaching its full potential.
What is a TCU tune?
A TCU (transmission control unit) tune delivers faster, firmer shifts with higher line pressure, reducing clutch slip and increasing the transmission's torque capacity. It's a worthwhile upgrade on its own, or paired with an ECU tune for a fully sorted powertrain.
Good to Know
- This is a reflash of your original module, not a stand-alone unit.
- Power gains vary by vehicle, modifications, fuel, and operating conditions (ambient temperature, altitude, etc.).
- New or upgraded spark plugs are always recommended when tuning.
- Product may not be emissions compliant. Check local laws prior to installation.
- Always use a battery charger during programming.
