Product Description
The N53 represents BMW pushing naturally aspirated engineering about as far as it could go. Using piezo-electric injectors and a stratified lean-burn direct-injection strategy on the same 3.0-liter inline-six architecture as the N52, it squeezed genuinely impressive efficiency out of an engine with no turbocharger to lean on. BMW sold it primarily in European markets, while the US, Canada, and Australia kept the N52 because local fuel sulfur content couldn't support the N53's injection system, itself a sign of just how finely tuned this engine's combustion strategy was. Alongside the N52, it stands as the final, most refined chapter of BMW's naturally aspirated straight-six story before turbocharging took over the range.
Weistec's calibration meets that refinement on its own terms. Every gain here comes from precision rather than boost, and the calibration is validated to the same OEM-level standard as every Weistec tune, refining throttle mapping and ignition timing while leaving every factory safety system exactly in place. On an otherwise stock N53, that's roughly 19 additional horsepower and 19 lb-ft of torque, a genuinely sharper edge on an engine that was already engineered with real finesse.

Complete The Upgrade
An ECU tune alone won't remove all factory limits or fix how power reaches the ground. Add these to round out the upgrade with no limitations.

What is a CPC module?
The CPC (Central Powertrain Control) is a separate control unit that manages things like the active exhaust valves, radiator fan, intercooler pumps, and speed limiter. On many newer Mercedes-Benz vehicles, it also houses torque limiters that can hold back an ECU tune from reaching its full potential.
What is a TCU tune?
A TCU (transmission control unit) tune delivers faster, firmer shifts with higher line pressure, reducing clutch slip and increasing the transmission's torque capacity. It's a worthwhile upgrade on its own, or paired with an ECU tune for a fully sorted powertrain.
Good to Know
- This is a reflash of your original module, not a stand-alone unit.
- Power gains vary by vehicle, modifications, fuel, and operating conditions (ambient temperature, altitude, etc.).
- New or upgraded spark plugs are always recommended when tuning.
- Product may not be emissions compliant. Check local laws prior to installation.
- Always use a battery charger during programming.
