Product Description
An oil / air separator, also known as a catch can or crankcase ventilation system,
is designed to separate the clean air coming in from the air that has mixed with the oil in the
crankcase. Without an oil / air separator, air mixed with oil can find its way back into the
intake system which goes right to the combustion chamber. This could lead to decreased performance,
greater emissions, oil buildup on engine valves, and it could reduce the effectiveness of high octane gasoline.
Reduced effectiveness of high octane gas could cause engine detonation or “knock”. Our team at Weistec
Engineering designed this system to prevent all this with our Weistec Can Am Maverick X3 Oil / Air Separator
System.
*Product may not be emissions compliant. Check local laws prior to installation.
The Weistec Can Am Maverick X3 Oil/Air Separator System comes equipped with billet PCV adapter fittings for easy bolt on performance, and accumulates oil in the lower body which can be drained and recycled during every oil change.
Some vehicles may have more oil consumption or "blow-by" than others. If you are unsure whether your vehicle may or may not be one of these, check the oil separator every few trips to ensure the separator system is not filled.
