Product Description
Mercedes introduced the OM642 as its 3.0L turbodiesel V6, built around Bosch common-rail direct injection and a variable-nozzle turbocharger, genuinely advanced diesel technology for its time. It's gone on to earn a real, hard-won reputation in the field for huge low-end torque and long service life, exactly what a diesel asked to move a fully loaded Sprinter needs, and it has stayed in service across multiple generations of the platform, alongside SUV and sedan CDI applications elsewhere in the Mercedes lineup. Fleet operators and overlanders alike have put this engine through real work for two decades and come away trusting it completely, the kind of proven, over-engineered foundation that rewards a proper recalibration.
Weistec's calibration for the OM642 is built around that same reality: a software recalibration of fueling, boost, and timing strategy that adds meaningfully to both power and torque. Every factory emissions and protection system stays fully intact, and the tune is developed and installed in-house with the same OEM-level discipline Weistec applies across its gasoline platforms, because a diesel work engine calls for its own tuning philosophy, not a sports-car approach relabeled. The result is an engine that was already built to work hard, now working even harder for you.

Complete The Upgrade
An ECU tune alone won't remove all factory limits or fix how power reaches the ground. Add these to round out the upgrade with no limitations.

What is a CPC module?
The CPC (Central Powertrain Control) is a separate control unit that manages things like the active exhaust valves, radiator fan, intercooler pumps, and speed limiter. On many newer Mercedes-Benz vehicles, it also houses torque limiters that can hold back an ECU tune from reaching its full potential.
What is a TCU tune?
A TCU (transmission control unit) tune delivers faster, firmer shifts with higher line pressure, reducing clutch slip and increasing the transmission's torque capacity. It's a worthwhile upgrade on its own, or paired with an ECU tune for a fully sorted powertrain.
Good to Know
- This is a reflash of your original module, not a stand-alone unit.
- Power gains vary by vehicle, modifications, fuel, and operating conditions (ambient temperature, altitude, etc.).
- New or upgraded spark plugs are always recommended when tuning.
- Product may not be emissions compliant. Check local laws prior to installation.
- Always use a battery charger during programming.
