About the Mercedes-Benz 7 Speed Dual Clutch Transmission

The Mercedes-Benz 7G-DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) is a high-performance transmission that combines the convenience of an automatic with the efficiency and control of a manual. It uses two separate clutches for odd and even gear sets, allowing for lightning-fast gear changes without interrupting power delivery. This results in improved acceleration, fuel efficiency, and overall driving experience. What is a TCU Tune?

The transmission is controlled by a small computer in your vehicle known as the TCU (transmission control unit). A TCU Tune changes the software that the TCU is running. By doing this, it changes the way the TCU "thinks," making it operate differently. The Weistec calibration team has carefully designed a TCU tune for your Mercedes-Benz A Class, B Class, GLA Class, and CLA Class. While our TCU tune doesn't add any additional horsepower or torque, it does optimize how your vehicle puts its power to the pavement through the transmission. This is essential to get the most out of your performance upgrades. How does the TCU tune accomplish this? Our TCU tune increases software torque limits and operational line pressure to help increase torque capacity and shifting speed while reducing the chances of slip. Less slip means less wear and tear on the DCT clutches in your transmission. What does this all mean for you? Better performance overall when combined with ECU tuning and other power-adding upgrades.
