Weistec CPC Module

Mercedes-AMG's Central Powertrain Control module, or CPC, is proof of how far these platforms pushed their own electronics before Weistec ever got involved. As AMG's 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic cars grew more sophisticated, the main engine ECU started running out of room for everything a modern powertrain now demands, so instead of cramming more logic into an already-stretched computer, AMG built the CPC as its own dedicated control unit, a second brain working right alongside the ECU. On the M177/M178, M139, and M260-family platforms that carry it, that module earns its keep in a big way. It runs the active exhaust valve actuators that give these cars their signature snap and burble, keeps the auxiliary radiator fan and intercooler water pumps doing their job under hard use, and, most tellingly for anyone tuning one of these cars, it's where AMG chose to relocate the torque limiters and the top-speed limiter that used to live in the ECU itself. That's a genuinely deliberate piece of engineering. By moving those limits outside the ECU, AMG built an architecture where no amount of ECU-only tuning can touch the ceiling the factory set, a real, purpose-built safeguard that does exactly what it was designed to do.

Weistec's CPC Module calibration takes that same philosophy the company applies to its engine and transmission work and brings it to this module, delivering a full software recalibration of the CPC's own logic rather than a bypass box or piggyback device wired in ahead of it. Everything the factory got right keeps doing its job. Exhaust valve behavior, fan and intercooler-pump management, and the module's normal diagnostic presence on the CAN bus all stay exactly as AMG designed them. What changes is the piece that exists purely to hold power back, the torque and speed limits that get recalibrated to finally step out of the way, built with the same OEM-level validation rigor behind every Weistec calibration. The payoff is a CPC that lets a properly tuned AMG actually reach the power its ECU is now capable of making, instead of leaving real output parked behind a limiter most owners never even knew was there.
