W.3 Turbo Upgrade: How the Core Exchange Process Works

The W.3 Turbo Upgrade is a rebuild and upgrade of your original factory turbochargers, not a set of brand-new units. Here is exactly how the process works from the moment you place your order to the day your upgraded turbos are back on your car.

This service is a comprehensive rebuild and upgrade of your original factory turbochargers. You will need to remove your stock turbos and ship them to us to begin the process.

As soon as your turbos arrive at our facility, we thoroughly inspect them to make sure every reused component is damage-free. If we find any damage to a reused component, we will contact you directly with the repair cost before moving forward.

If your turbos failed before you sent them in, this is often a good opportunity to fix the problem and upgrade at the same time in a single process. Whether that is possible depends on the extent of the damage to your core, and we will let you know exactly what we find and what it will take once your turbos are inspected.

• If a built W.3 is in stock: it ships out to you immediately upon inspection approval, minimizing your downtime. Feel free to call or email us ahead of time to check current inventory before you ship your turbos in, so you can time it right for minimal downtime.
• If no built W.3 is in stock: your exact OEM units are rebuilt in-house. This typically takes up to 2–3 weeks, depending on current shop scheduling.

The factory turbochargers are disassembled and fully inspected. The compressor cover and center cartridge are then machined to accept our 5-axis CNC-machined impeller wheel. Externally, no changes are made, preserving a completely stock appearance. The new impeller wheel supports greater power levels than the factory unit with little to no sacrifice in spool or response. The turbochargers are then reassembled with all new seals and bearings, and fully balanced for smooth operation and OEM service life. All original oil and coolant lines bolt right up, making for a simple install.

Custom ECU calibration is recommended after installation to safely extract the full performance from your upgraded turbos. Actual power gains depend on your specific vehicle setup, fuel type, and any supporting modifications.
